Last night, I along with 39 other prominent local business and community leaders, were honored at the Times Leader‘s “Top 40 Under Forty” dinner and awards ceremony. The event is designed to recognize those who “have exceeded expectations and will receive the honor of being named leaders, role models and influential community members of Northeastern Pennsylvania. From various backgrounds — including real estate, public relations, food and beverage, law, government, media, education, nonprofit, insurance, e-commerce, health and beauty, culinary arts and the gaming industry, these individuals are being recognized for their outstanding service to their organizations and their communities.”
I’m always humbled when receiving awards like this because it’s our team members who make Solid Cactus what it is – an award winning company. Without their support, dedication, work ethic and commitment to our community I would not have the opportunity to earn such recognition.
The “Top 40 Under Forty” is sponsored by our local newspaper, the Times Leader, who we work closely with on various projects. Rich Connor, Editor and Publisher, served as host for the evening introducing the honorees and warming up the crowd. In addition to Rich, John Baldino, Mark Sowers, Rachel Pugh, Rachael Decker, Dick DeHaven, Helen Lavelle, Prashant Shutit and others from the Times Leader were on hand.
Joining me for the evening was Joe Palko, co-founder & CEO; my brother and board member Frank Sanfilippo Jr.; my father Frank Sanfilippo Sr.; VP of Finance, Patty Sleboda; VP of Operations, Miguel Younger; GM of Store Dev, Mike Lugo; Tech Support Supervisor, Isaac Boerner; Marketing Ops Manager, John Dawe; and Director of Store Dev, Chris Martin.
