Can I offer free shipping over $100?

Yes, you can offer free shipping over any dollar amount you want with just the basic Yahoo Shipping Manager.

First, you want to create the normal rule for below $X.xx. So this can be done by UPS online tools, or a flat or table rate.

If you’re using a table based on amount, then you just need to create a row in the table for $X.xx and setup the Add to add 0.00.

For the rest of you, charging shipping based on weight, you would need to create an additional shipping rule.

  1. In the rule, you setup the locations of the states that qualify for the free shipping promotion.
  2. On the next page, you’d select the shipping method that would get the free shipping.
  3. On the next page, you’ll select table rates.
  4. Change the basis to Amount.
  5. The first Add box you’ll leave blank, but the first from box you can edit you’ll put $X.xx. And in the Add box next to it, you’ll put minus a large number. For example, - 300.00
  6. Click Next and Finish.

I know what you’re thinking if minus is too big, you’re afraid you’ll be giving them money. But in reality it stops at zero. In the end, you’re Shipping Manager Rates should look like:

You can the test this in both the Shipping and Tax text, and you’re live site when you publish.
