I’ve created all of the products in my site, but now I’d like to create some pages that just have content for search engines. How do I create an informational page?

Informational pages are created by using the contents button in the tool bar; then clicking new. Just like you would if you were creating one of your item pages. Just like an item page, you can have the id be anything you like.

I suppose the hardest part of creating an informational page is deciding if you want to create an item type or an info type page.

Item. type pages are pages that can be made into a section (aka category) or item page. Item. pages will have all of the properties one of your item pages would have, however that doesn’t mean they’ll display. For example, the price and sale-price properties will be available to be filled. But they aren’t required. So if you fill them in you’ll get a product page with an add to cart button, but if you leave them blank you’ll get a section page or one that just displays content. So if you chose the item. type they only thing you’d need to fill in on the next page is the Name and Caption.

Info. type pages are pages similar to your info.html page. It’s meant for content and content only. By default there only a few properties for text on an info. page: Greeting, Address Phone, Info. These properties are simply text boxes that appear on the page. They appear in order that they are listed on the edit page, but don’t trigger any headings or special fonts. So, you can chose to use all three properties or you can pick one to put all of your content in.

Once you decide to make either the item. or info. pages, you just click continue. Fill in the information and click update. The page is created, and you’d simply need to link to the page where it’s needed.
