My name is Scott and I’m a geek. I’ll be the first to admit that when a new laptop model is released, out comes the credit card. New iPhone comes out, I’m off to AT&T. Microsoft releases Vista, I stick to XP.

I like to have the “latest and greatest” and when it comes to your e-commerce store you should too!

I’m always excited when a new product comes out of our development lab and I see it for the first time. I start visualizing all the different ways it could be used on a site and how shoppers will take advantage of it and most importantly, how well it will drive someone to the checkout. I’ve got three new products for you to check out today that have just been released, Recession Buster, Store Locator and Flash Banners.

Recession Buster Pricing is a hot new marketing/pricing tool that we’re using on our website in order to allow our customers to make an offer on a product. We all know money is tight and if there’s a product out there that someone really wants or needs and can’t afford the full price, it allows them submit an offer for what they’re willing to pay.

The concept is simple and we’ve had overwhelming success with it on our end. Next to the “Add to Cart” button is a “Recession Buster Pricing” button. The shopper can choose to pay the normal price by just adding it to their cart, or they can click the Recession Buster graphic and make you an offer that you can approve or deny.

From a marketing standpoint, it’s golden! It shows your customers you care and are in-tune with their need to be price sensitive. From a business standpoint, it just makes sense. You don’t want to lose a customer because he wants $5 off a $79 item.

Our Store Locator Feature is for those of you who operate a brick-and-mortar in addition to your online store. With this feature, the shopper can enter their zip code to locate a store near them, then provide them with point-to-point driving directions complete with a map. Talk about “driving” traffic!

Finally, one of the hottest new products for your Yahoo! Store is now available!

Flash Sequence Banners - You’ve seen them on all the major retailer’s sites and now you can have your own. If you want to see this product in action, go to our homepage at SolidCactus.com and you will see the various “ads” cycling through. You don’t need to know Jack about Flash because all the processing is done behind the scenes. Use our team of graphic designers to make your ads look fancy, or you can make them yourself. The merchants who acted as our beta testers have been pleasantly pleased with both the aesthetic and financial results.
