If you were a child of the 80’s chances are you tried at least once to call 867-5309 to see who answered (even though you didn’t know the area code). For those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about, a popular song during the Michael Jackson era, was “867-5307 Jenny” by Tommy Tutone, aka Tommy Heath. The number was sung over and over again in this funky tune giving it instant rise into the world of pop culture.
While Jenny doesn’t get much airplay these days, the number is still as popular as ever. So popular in fact, that a nutritional supplement company, Natrient, recently leased 1-800-867-5309 from it’s owner, 5309 Partners Ltd. in which Heath is a partner for a mere $25 million. They plan on using it in radio commercials for their male enhancement product called SutraMax.
While on the subject of how to blow millions, it was announced the other day that Toys ‘R Us paid $5.1 million for the domain name toys.com after the original owner went belly up.
I own a lot of toll-free numbers and hundreds of domain names. If you have a couple million to spare, give me a ring, we can talk.
